Perhaps we should begin with Lake Winnipesaukee. Lake Winnipesaukee is the largest lake in New Hampshire, covering 72 square miles, 21 miles long, and 1-12 miles across. It is the perfect lake for boating activities of all kinds; waterskiing, sailing, fishing, etc... not to mention the perfect spot on a hot summer day for a dip. If you have never enjoyed swimming in a clear glacial-created lake, this lake will ruin you for all other lakes!
So, why Weirs Beach specifically? Weirs Beach is unique among the area beaches and communities in that we offer a combination of alluring features. Our slowly receding sandy bottoms are perfect for families with tiny swimmers. They can almost walk forever out into the water before the shoreline drops down. Our beach is free (though parking may not be). There are ample businesses within walking distance for dining and shopping during your day at the beach. If you tire of the sand, there are a variety of activities and attractions for you to choose from including (but not limited to) riding the scenic railroad, boat rentals, a scenic tour of our lake via the Mount Washington, waterslides, mini golf, attending a double feature at the Drive-In Theater, arcades, and Friday night fireworks, guaranteeing memories for the entire family for years to come.
If you decide a day just isn't enough, there are ample hotels and camp grounds for you to choose from all within close distance to our beach, and our little village is centrally located between Meredith and Alton Bay, and only thirty minutes to Concord- our state capital, making it the perfect place to base your vacation from to explore the Lakes Region, enjoy quaint New England towns, beautiful hikes and wonderful wildlife.
Additionally, every year around Father's Day the community is transformed into the third largest motorcycle rally in the nation. It's a lot like a costume party. Who needs Renaissance Festivals when you could come here and party with Bikers?
